Sapphire Radeon Sky 900 Graphics Card is intended for use in cloud gaming servers. It features AMD RapidFire technology, an open API that allows for a constant improvement of visual quality, latency, and bandwidth for cloud gaming on almost any device the gamer chooses. Hardware wise, this card features 6GB of GGDR5 vRAM and has a floating point performance spec of 5.91 TFLOPS at single point precision. With that processing power, this card can support six 720p game streams simultaneously. The card itself can be connected to a physical display using its DVI and DisplayPort outputs. The DisplayPort output supports resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz. This card uses a passive heatsink for silent and reliable cooling and requires a minimum of 25 CFM of airflow in order to keep a stable operating temperature.
The 28nm GCN Architecture with more efficient process technology puts more transistors in less space, enabling an increase in processing power and graphics performance.
- Each compute unit can execute instructions from multiple kernels at once
- Designed for high-utilization, high-throughput, and multi-tasking
- Dual geometry Engines for faster triangle (“primitive”) processing
A combination of hardware and software that enables cloud gaming partners to benefit from an open API that simplifies the manipulation of key hardware controls to provide HD visual quality, minimal latency and optimal network bandwidth resulting in a compelling and responsive gaming experience.
With AMD RapidFire technology, AMD is also building in support for direct access to AMD Radeon Sky GPUs from virtual machines created by leading hypervisors including VMware ESX/ESXi and Citrix XenServer, providing greater density and more simultaneous game streams from a single server.
